King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah is approximately 85 kilometres (53 miles) from Makkah city centre. The journey follows King Abdulaziz Road and then Highway 40 (Haramain Expressway) to Makkah.
How long does the taxi journey from Jeddah Airport to Makkah take?
Under normal traffic conditions, the journey from Jeddah Airport to Makkah takes 60 to 90 minutes. During peak Hajj season (Dhul Hijjah), Ramadan (especially the last 10 days), and Friday afternoons, expect 90 minutes to 2.5 hours due to heavy traffic near Makkah's entry checkpoints.
Which road is used from Jeddah Airport to Makkah?
The main route from King Abdulaziz International Airport to Makkah uses Highway 40 (also called the Haramain Expressway or Jeddah-Makkah Highway). This is the most direct and fastest route, covering the 85km in approximately 60–90 minutes.
Can the taxi drop me directly at Masjid Al-Haram?
Vehicles can drop you at your hotel near Masjid Al-Haram. Non-residents cannot drive directly to Masjid Al-Haram itself, but we will get you as close as possible — directly to your hotel door in the Al-Haram area.

How far in advance should I book my taxi?
We recommend booking at least 24 to 48 hours before your arrival. For Hajj season (Dhul Hijjah) and Ramadan (particularly the last 10 days), we strongly recommend booking 2–4 weeks in advance as demand far exceeds supply during these periods.
What if I need to cancel my booking?
We offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before your scheduled taxi. Simply message us on WhatsApp or call us and we will cancel your booking at no charge. Last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hours) may incur a small administrative fee.
Can I book online or only by WhatsApp?
You can book via WhatsApp (preferred), phone call, or email. WhatsApp is the fastest way to confirm your booking and receive driver details instantly. We are working on an online booking form for added convenience.

What if my flight is delayed?
All bookings include real-time flight monitoring at no extra cost. If your flight is delayed, your driver will be informed automatically and will adjust their arrival time accordingly. Your driver will be there when you land, regardless of how long the delay is.
Will the driver meet me inside the airport?
Yes. Your driver will be in the arrivals hall at King Abdulaziz International Airport holding a sign with your name. They will assist with luggage and escort you to the vehicle. There is no need to call or locate the driver — they will find you.
Makkah Entry & Religious
Can non-Muslims use this taxi service to go to Makkah?
This taxi service to Makkah is exclusively for Muslims. Makkah (Mecca) is a holy city in Islam and non-Muslims are not permitted to enter. All passengers travelling to Makkah must be Muslim. If you are travelling to Jeddah city only, we can accommodate passengers of any faith.
Can I travel to Makkah in a state of Ihram?
Absolutely. Our Muslim drivers are fully aware of Ihram requirements and will treat your state of Ihram with the utmost respect. They will avoid anything that could violate your Ihram and assist you as needed.
Are the drivers Muslim?
Yes. All drivers assigned to routes into Makkah are practising Muslims, as required by Saudi Arabian law for access to the holy city. They are experienced in working with Umrah and Hajj pilgrims.
What is the Makkah entry checkpoint?
All roads entering Makkah have checkpoints (also called Miqat or entry gates) where authorities verify that travellers are Muslim. Drivers are familiar with these checkpoints and all required documentation. This is handled by the driver without any action required from you.
